“I make art for myself and for my friends that’s it. If my friends are cool with what I’m doing that’s all that matters. I don’t care for anyone else’s opinion.”

Over the past few months I began to care way too much what other people thought of my work. I worried about what shots I took, how I proceeded to edit those shots, and how others would view those shots. It got to the point I was worried about how many “likes” I would get on the photo, when I should post the photo, what hashtags I would use when I post it, etc. I realized that I need to get back to taking photos for me. In the past I used photography as a get away. A way to go out, enjoy new places and get new perspectives. I’m done caring as much as I have been and I want to continue to take photos for me and the reasons I began to love photography in the first place.

I recently did an interview with Adorama #TTL. I talked about my process, how I feel about photography, and shared some advice as well. Check it out!

“I always looked for someone to go on adventures with And then I met you And we went on many adventures, yes But I realized that I wasn’t searching for someone to go on adventures with But rather to find the adventure within someone And I then realized you were the adventure Exploring the things that made you laugh Taking the paths that ran throughout your mind Tracing the trails along your body You were my favorite adventure of all.”
